Launch of Studio OSMO

We’re excited to share the launch of Studio OSMO, an independent design science studio founded by Saurabh Mhatre, who now serves as Founder & Design Director.

Studio OSMO operates at the crossroads of matter, method, and form, exploring how structure can arise from systems, whether physical, biological, or computational, through a transdisciplinary practice grounded in research, experimentation, and intuition.

Inspired by the concept of osmosis, the studio embraces a philosophy of permeability across boundaries, including disciplines, materials, systems, and scales.Ideas flow naturally between architecture, biology, computation, and craft, resulting in outcomes that transcend the constraints of any single field.

Just as osmosis achieves equilibrium through subtle gradients, Studio OSMO fosters innovation through quiet transformation, crafting responsive materials, intelligent mechanisms, and architectural forms that bridge the human and nonhuman, the scientific and the poetic.
